The eighth doctor adventure novels really formed core pillars of my consciousness like every once in a while I’ll remember that there’s arcs in them that characterized the Doctor as if he were trying to be an unflappable children’s adventure series protagonist but is always fighting down the terror and shocked surprise of living in a vulnerable fleshy body that the universe wants to pin down and dissect and I’ll have to lie down and stare at the ceiling
Like what if you were an unfathomable entity made of math and chance that came from nowhere and then you’re caught and someone takes your heart. And it’s an actual organ in your chest and everything is wrong
